The Chesterton-Porter Rotary Club recently honored Chesterton High School junior, Britta Ringas, as Student of the Month.
During the Club’s weekly meeting, Britta spoke about her work in Business Professionals of America, as well as her participation in CHS Speech and Debate, Varsity Swimming, and Varsity Track. In addition to her athletic achievement, Britta holds a black belt in Taekwondo, has played the cello since a young age, participates in the fall plays at CHS, and successfully maintains a 4.0 grade point average. While still unsure of where she would like to attend college, Britta feels a strong pull to Indiana University to follow in her family legacy, and which is also where her older sister, Aris, currently is a student. Ms. Ringas plans to pursue a degree in psychology and a minor in music or theater.
Heather Klein served as Britta’s host for the Chesterton-Porter Rotary Club meeting. As part of the Student of the Month award, Britta received a framed certificate recognizing this honor, a Rotary pen, and a $50 savings bond. In addition, a $25 donation will be given to the Duneland Education Foundation in Ms. Ringas’ name. For more information on the Chesterton-Porter Rotary Club, please visit www.dunelandrotary.com.
